Introduction:
        This is the first project that we could say that arose out of inspiration in our group. A couple of us started talking a few months ago, before the end of 2005, about how we could conceive of a contest that would originate here and be unique to Pittsburgh. Well, I took a look at many aspects of robotics to see what part of it could be fun to participate in and yet still be technically challenging for the novices as well as the experienced robot builder.

        This competition involves a field of robotics, called swarming,  which is found in research labs among the many universities and corporations. There is some work already in marketing this technology into several areas. As engineers and hobbiests, we try to incorporate the research accomplished in this field and find a way to apply this. We're using a common sense approach to research any new concepts that might surface from this. We're trying to create another avenue that the robotics hobby can explore and have fun while trying.
