Jan.16,2005	Robot Contests I hope once we haev a large enough group, we can get people interested in participating in robot competitions here in Pittsburgh. Some of these more popular contests are held around the country. Most of the contests are based on those held at RoboOlympics in California. These are Mouse maze, Line Following, Robot Sumo, Lego Challenge, Walker Challenge, Biped Race, Robomagellan. And if we're lucky, we could possibly hold our competitions at the Carnegie Science Center. -- Dan
Jan.15.2004	Group Tours of Robot Organisations Something to look forward to this year in 2005 is group tours of robot organisations in the local area. With our robot club we could make arrangements to visit one of the most recognized robot institutions in the country at Carnegie Mellon University. -- Dan
Jan.14.2005	Meeting Annoucement Hi everyone, The tentative date is Sat afternoon Feb 5, 2005 at 1:00pm The location is still not decided. I have one location, Reflections Cafe in Westview. The address is 650 Center Ave, Westview , 15229 Here's a good Map website-> http://maps.msn.com/ There's free parking there too :) Anyone that is interested in stopping by please drop an email. I'll announce a confirmation if we have people planning to attend. There will be some items to discuss for our club and it would be good to get some discussion on these items. Below is the proposed agenda for the first meeting. Eventually, I hope we will be able to find a dedicated place to hold our meetings. Especially if get more people attending, we'll need the extra space. Something where we can also bring our robots and sometimes hold workshops. Maybe an old warehouse that somebody wouldn't mind letting us using for an afternoon. Jan.13.2005	New Website Hi Everyone, I whipped up a small website to establish our presence on the Net http://pghrobot.home.comcast.net/ It's still abit rough around the edges and still 'under construction' If anyone has any suggestions for adding material , please send it over. I have flyers being posted at the different Hobby Shops' and Radio Shacks'. I hope this will attract more people that are interested in this. I look forward to our first meetings.
