Robot Mouse Race
This is a workbook documenting the design work for
the mouse maze used for the SciTech Spectacular at Carnegie Science Center

                                                                                                                - Dan Roganti
Design Workbook:

The Robot Mouse race consists of two mazes with their own robot mouse. The user controls the
mouse in one of the mazes with a tethered cable attached to a display console. The other maze
contains an autonomous robot mouse which is capable of traversing the maze under it's own guidance.
The user must steer it's robot mouse without looking at the maze. Only by viewing the display console
with it's array of sensor lights can the user traverse the maze. The winner of the race is the first to
get to the end of the maze where the cheese is found.

Maze design:
Maze Design
There are 3 possiblities so far in the design of the maze, either a 3x6 grid, 4x8 grid or 5x10 grid. The difference will translate to the design of the robot mouse, the larger grid will need a smaller robot design. As the dimensions ot the maze becomes smaller for the mousebot to fit between the walls.

Maze contruction:
The maze needs to be adjustable to allow it to remain challenging by altering the maze path at anytime. There are a couple of options which we have so far to let us build something. We have to think on what other options there might be still.

Control Station:
The control station is used to remotely control the other robot mouse via a tether. This will have a display of sensor lights to let the person see what the robot mouse senses within the maze. The robot mouse can be steered through the maze using the joystick and buttons on the console. One can then navigate through the maze by diligently monitoring telemetry data of the sensor lights.

Robot Mouse:
There are two mouse bots which are used here, one for each maze. One is remotely controlled by someone and the other ia autonomously controlled. They both race through the maze to get to the cheese at the end of the maze.
